EPA 608 Certification - April 2023
Event Details
9th. Section 608 of the Federal Clean Air Act requires that all persons who maintain, service, repair or dispose of appliances that contain regulated substances be certified in proper refrigerant handling techniques. Technicians are required to pass an EPA-approved test to earn Section 608 Technician Certification. The tests are specific to the type of equipment the technician seeks to work on. Tests must be administered by an EPA-approved certifying organization. Section 608 Technician Certification credentials do not expire.
The Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky is an approved provider for this EPA course thru the ESCO Institute! Attend this class if you need to obtain the EPA Type I, Type II, Type III, or Universal HVAC certification. This class is a review of the New EPA 608 course workbook or as a refresher course in preparation for the exam administered during the second day.
- Type I – Persons who maintain, service, or repair small appliances must be certified as Type I technicians.
- Type II – Persons who maintain, service, repair, or dispose of the medium-, high-, or very high-pressure appliances (except small appliances, MVACs, and MVAC-like appliances) must be certified as Type II technicians.
- Type III – Persons who maintain, service, repair, or dispose of low-pressure appliances must be certified as Type III technicians.
This course is a review course. The first half of the class will be review and the test will be administered at the end.
