CAPS

NAAEI’s Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) program is an in-depth review of property management principles and techniques as used by the professional supervisor.

The course helps the professional make the connection between knowledge and on-the-job performance.

CAPS training is a weeklong classroom training event with five, eight-hour courses.

“From an Owner and Asset Manager’s perspective, my participation in the CAPS designation classes was particularly poignant in the risk management, fiscal management and property performance course modules.  Through the entire course, the significance became clear – that the collaborative focus of the asset manager, portfolio supervisor, and community manager ultimately brings to enhancing and protecting the value of the multifamily asset.

From an Asset Management perspective, the property’s  future value will be reflected through the containment of expenses, asset appearance, resident credit worthiness, loan compliance and timely/intensive management of the property. With a CAPS training and designation program, the Portfolio Supervisors oversight and guidance, coupled with the Community Manager’s presence on the front line in a collaborative oriented approach, the entire real estate interdisciplinary team will be led towards a more cross functional, real time, systematic methodology to provide top level asset management.  It is through this alignment of services and management disciplines that the community’s full value can be maintained and dynamic growth can occur.”
